ABOUT MONICA
I grew up on a working farm in rural Missouri. Having watched a television show about idealistic young law school students called "The Paper Chase" in my early teens, I decided to become the first lawyer in my family. Blessed with full scholarships to college and law school, upon law school graduation in 1989, I accepted a position with one of the top five law firms in the United States, and moved to Washington D.C.
In 1992, I resigned my position as an attorney, as I found it morally challenging to practice law in corporate America. Shortly after that, a friend prompted me to have an astrology reading to get direction and clarity about what to do next. I had never believed in astrology, but he had consulted with an astrologer for over twenty years, and he urged me to try it. The reading amazed me! I became intrigued by astrology and began to study. By the summer of 1994, I had learned to hand-calculate a birth chart -- no computer back then! By hand-calculate, I mean you have to mathematically calculate the position of the Sun, Moon, and planets at a person's exact moment of birth at their exact location on earth. Even with my advanced degrees, I found the study of astrology one of the more intellectually challenging exercises I have undertaken. Soon though, I had mastered the basics and I started to read the charts of friends and family.
When an acquaintance said, "you know, you should charge people for your time for this," my astrology practice began. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of people, helping them understand their life path and life purpose through analyzing their birth chart. Now, I have the blessing of a state of the art computer program that does the calculations for me!
In addition to working with individual clients, on a larger scope, I work to educate people about astrology’s true nature, and to bring astrology back to its rightful place as a respected system of knowledge. Astrology links us to the universe, helping us to see our unique role in the cosmos. Astrology provides us with amazing insight, and can help us attain greater spiritual awareness and personal happiness. We as a society will benefit when we make astrology accessible and comprehensible to everyone.
